Destiny Decisions

Striving to have a better future for yourself and your family is hard work. It is so easy to give up along the way. We start off with enthusiasm and excitement when we get started on our dreams. Then, we meet with obstacles and difficulties that cause us to question our chosen path. If we don't make the right decisions, we will give up on our dreams. We make a decision to take a different path, one that is easier.

des·ti·ny

/destinē/

noun

the events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future

I have been there before. Transitions are riddled with hardships. As soon as you pull the trigger on your dream, it begins a process of transition. And in the transition from where you are to where you want to be, you have to make thousands of decisions. What you decide will determine your outcome.

The difference between success and failure is not talent or intelligence. I have personally met some very talented and intelligent people who are homeless or struggling to survive. Talent and intelligence can only get you so far.

The main thing that makes the difference between people who succeed and people who fail is this one thing: the quality of the decisions that they make.

"Your life will follow your most dominant thoughts."

Dr. Cindy Trimm

Seven years ago, I did a self-examination of my life. I started to wonder, "How did I end up where I am today?" I did an exercise that I teach called "The Decades of My Life," and I noticed something. I noticed that at each decade in my life, the path of my future was determined by a major decision that I made or that I refused to make.

And the consequences of my decision influenced the path that my life took. I realized that I had said "Yes" to some things that took me away from my true destiny. And I had said "No" to some things that could have shortcut me on my pathway to success. And then there were times that I failed to make a decision and a window of opportunity closed.

I hear a lot of people talk about their lives as if it is a movie on a screen. They talk like they are just a viewer of what's going on and have to accept everything that comes their way.

The truth of the matter is this: you ALWAYS have a choice. In ANY situation. If you are not convinced, read this story about Captain Pete Peterson who became a POW (prisoner of war) in Vietnam.

You ALWAYS have a choice in whatever you do and say. And those choices will determine the path of destiny for your life.

This is the reason that I talk a lot about having a vision and getting clarity on your vision. When you can have a clear picture of where you want to go, you can align all of your decisions behind your vision. Clarity is key.

How do you get clarity on your decisions? One way is to hire a Life Coach. A Life Coach can use the power of positivity to help you envision a better future for your life. And that is the first step to getting your life on the road to personal success - whatever that looks like for you.

You ALWAYS have a choice.
