God Opens Doors
Have you ever been in a situation where you felt like your back was against the wall and there was no way out?
Well, I have been there many times. And I was reminded of that tonight as I sat her at my desk. I looked up at my vision board and saw these words, "God opens doors of opportunity."
The power of these words is not in the words themselves. The power of these words is in the belief that no matter where you are or what you situation is, there is a door of opportunity right in front of you.
Now, if you are in a really bad situation, you might find this difficult to believe. The battle you are facing may be so large or so hard that you begin to imagine there is no way out. But there is always a way out.
These words were hard to believe for Captain Jerry Coffee, a prisoner of war in Vietnam. who spent 7 years in nine days in prison. Now 80 years old, this is how he chooses to remember his experience:
“I vowed to find the purpose in my adversity and pain and come home better, tougher and stronger in every way. Our mission in prison was to not just survive, but go beyond survival and return with honor.”
In his book Beyond Survival, Jerry details out his experience. Although his experience was difficult and painful, he never gave up hope. He always believed that the next day brought another opportunity to survive and possibly escape this terrible ordeal. And his mindset kept him alive until the day that it happened - he became a free man.
Captain Coffee was in a literal prison created for him by someone else. The problem with the rest of us is that we are in a prison of our own making. The door of opportunity is right in front of us, but we fail to see it.
We instead choose to believe that there is no way out. And by making that choice, we mentally shift into our self-made prison.
But when we choose to believe that God has a door of opportunity ready for us, it moves our mindset into searching for that opportunity. Instead of giving up, we choose to move forward with the belief that the door of opportunity is right around the corner.
"If I just keep moving with bold ferocity and strong tenacity, my opportunity will manifest itself."
There is a Scripture that says,
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."
Do you see that? Finding the door of opportunity requires you to TAKE ACTION. You must knock on the door!
And when you do, God will open it for you.
This also looks like asking for what you want and seeking after what you want to find. You must be bold and fierce in your belief.
The door of opportunity is waiting for you. What will you do?
If you decide to go for it, know this: I am cheering for you!
