The Art of U by Rebecca Coaching Difference
There are literally thousands of coaches out there. How do you know which coach is the right one for you?
I started this blog with a goal: to share my wisdom, insights, and lessons learned from over 20 years of experience in professional and ministry environments. I also wanted to share my stories and struggles that you might learn from my mistakes.
Not long into my blogging journey, a passion ignited in me to mentor and coach people who are struggling with life's obstacles. In particular, I wanted to help people master change and transition.
My passion for helping people learn how to embrace and navigate change was triggered by an event very early in my life. My parents separated when I was 11 years old and my Mother moved us from New Jersey to Tennessee. I can't explain why this created such a big impact on me, but it did ( I know people who moved multiple times as a child who don't even think about it.)
This one big change in my life started me on a journey of learning how to navigate and adapt to change.
Why is that important? And most of all why do you need to be better at adapting to change?
It's very simple. you will NOT reach any significant goal in life without being able to navigate change. This includes a long list: losing weight, getting a new job, moving to a new city, going from single to married, becoming a parent, getting a promotion, starting a new business, or coming back from a significant setback. The list goes on.
The common thread that runs through all of these events is CHANGE. You have to know how to navigate it without getting lost!
And most of all, you have to be able to navigate it in a way the leaves you W.O.W - W.ell p.Owerful, and W.hole. Believe it or not, there is a specific process that you can follow to get there.
For years, I would try and succeed, try and fail, try and succeed, try and fail. It was an up and down cycle. And the stress I experienced at times was almost unbearable. The stress of it began negatively impacting relationships with the people that I loved. Something had to give.
This is when I started my journey into discovering how to navigate change. I started with learning more about leadership, and specifically self leadership. Then I dug into discovering more about my own personality, preferences, gifts, and talents.
Just when I thought I was on the road to the life of my dreams, I experienced a significant illness that set me back. That experience helped me learn how to incorporate stress-reducing and self-care strategies.
What I share with you here on my blog and with my clients is not just something that I learned in school. I walked this out for myself and learned the powerful practices and strategies that WORK.
As I scroll through my social media feeds I see so many people who are stressed and having difficulty navigating change. They want their lives to be different, but they don't know where to start. Or they started and experienced a significant setback that keeps them from starting over.
My passion is to help people who feel stuck. You know you want more but you don't know where to begin. You need to understand how to effectively navigate change.
I call this a journey because it is NOT a quick-fix. If you want five steps to a better life, I suggest you visit another blog.
What I can tell you is this: if you take the time to understand and learn the process and dig in to get a better understanding of yourself, you will reach the state of W.O.W. - W.ell, p.Owerful, and W.hole.
And when you connect that to your purpose and passion you will unleash your power and potential in your life and in your business or career.
