Can you answer this question: Who are you?
Most people would answer that question by describing:
Their role (Mom, Dad, Job Title, etc.)
What they do (musician, artist, writer, etc.)
Family title and ties
What they possess
Looking at your life through this lens can lead to problems.
So, do you stop being YOU when you...?
Lose your job
Become estranged from your family
Lose what you possess
That is a losing proposition. I don't know about you, but I don't want me life to be tied to things that I cannot control.
So, where does that leave us?
In yesterday's post, I talked about learning more about yourself.
Let's start there.
Knowing and understanding yourself is the gateway to answering the question "Who are you?" And to borrow a phrase, the answer is "It is complicated."
Your Unique cannot be described without understanding who you are apart from any of the categories listed above.
For example, if I had to assign one word to describe myself, my very essence, it would be embodied in the word
All of my life, I have been on a consistent path of growth and self-discovery. As I have learned to walk in my purpose, I have discovered that not only do I embody change, but I create it when I show up in any environment. A personal encounter with me will challenge you to CHANGE.
I value learning and growth. Even that is all about change. Do you see where I am headed with this?
If you had to summarize "you" in one word, what would it be? If you are stumped, it is an indication that you have not thought deeply enough about your own UNIQUE power and purpose. A plan for self-discovery is in order!
Learning "you" is one of the toughest things you will ever do. But there is nothing like the freedom that comes with understanding who you are at your core.
This journey is just beginning...
Love your Unique. Live your Unique.
